Cassava WDGS
Cassava Wet Distillers Grains and Solubles (WDGS) cake are a protein-rich byproduct of cassava-based bioethanol production, forming a golden mass of high dry matter content. This high-nutrient byproduct contains increased fibre and concentrated protein and minerals compared to the original cassava, serving as a valuable, palatable, and cost-effective feed for livestock, particularly ruminants. WDGS are typically mixed with other feed ingredients for storage and transport to livestock producers.
Cassava WDGS are a protein-rich byproduct of bioethanol production produced during the distillation process of the fermented Cassava Solution for the production of High-Quality Cassava Ethanol in the CassavaTech Plant. The fermented Cassava Solution, herein, referes to the product resulting from soaking cassava in high-quality water, allowing fermentation to occur with approved enzymes, typically to reduce cyanide content and develop desired flavour and texture.
It is similar to other distillers' grains. It's a wet byproduct of starch fermentation, similar to other distillers' grains, but derived from cassava instead of corn, barley or sorghum.
It has a High Nutritional Value (HNV). After the starch is fermented out, the remaining components like fibre, protein, and minerals become concentrated.
it is formed from a golden mass of high dry matter with high protein content. WDGS are a golden-coloured, moist mass with a dry matter content of over 40% and a high protein content, making them a nutritious feed.
